Refurbished is climate policy
Every refurbished server we ship is a new server someone doesn't buy. The carbon cost of manufacturing a dual-socket enterprise server is roughly 1,200–1,800 kg CO₂e. Reuse avoids that almost entirely — the operational emissions of the server during its second life are what remain.
Our practice
- Resale-first disposition. We sell every component that passes function testing. Only non-resale items go to recycling.
- WEEE-registered recycling. End-of-life items processed through UK WEEE-compliant facilities. We hold the certificates.
- Component-level recovery. A failed server doesn't mean failed parts. We harvest working memory, drives, PSUs, and fans for spares inventory.
- Right-to-repair philosophy. We publish service notes where we can. Post-warranty customers get 15% off components so repair beats replacement.
What we don't do
We don't carbon-offset our way to a green badge. We don't publish fabricated sustainability scores. If you want the hard numbers — weight of equipment diverted from landfill, kWh consumed by burn-in, freight carbon — email us. We'll share the data we have.
Packaging
Double-wall corrugated with recycled content. Foam-free where possible using moulded pulp. All packaging recyclable kerbside in the UK and EU. US: recyclable per municipal program.
